Lisbon hosted the Second United Nations Ocean Conference, from June 27 to July 1, 2022. Blue School had the opportunity to participate, attend and intervene in some of the events that marked the week. The week started with the event “Creating Good Vibes' Generations”, but there was more….

🌊 Making Blue Education Mainstream

Blue School PT was one of several Ocean Literacy programmes that signed the “Charter for Blue Education in Europe”, a joint declaration on developing common strategies to implement Ocean Literacy in schools across Europe.
This was one of the main moments of the session “Making Blue Education Mainstream”, a side event of the UN Ocean Conference.

🌊 Sea Beyond

Lisbon hosted the final ceremony of the Sea Beyond project, promoted by Prada and IOC UNESCO, with the participation of two Portuguese Blue Schools.
The Anselmo de Andrade and Vialonga Schools took part in this international project dedicated to sustainability and Ocean preservation. Sea Beyond challenged students and teachers to freely interpret one of the ten challenges of the Ocean Decade.

🌊 Ocean Literacy Dialogues

Raquel Costa and Patrícia Conceição, from the Blue School PT Coordination, were part of the Ocean Literacy Dialogues session, a United Nations Ocean Conference side event.
This session, put together by the IOC-UNESCO and the EU4Ocean Coalition, brought together several networks and entities that promote Ocean Literacy at an international level.
