In 2025/26, Escola Azul is once again partnering with oceanographer Caroline Schio, from the Programa Monitoramento Mirim Costeiro, to give 120 teachers from the Escola Azul network the opportunity to participate in the “Guardians of the Ocean” Teacher Training.

The Training is open to teachers of all age groups and consists of accredited sessions, under the b-learning regime, with a workload of 50 hours: 25 hours face-to-face and synchronous + 25 hours of independent work.
The “Guardians of the Ocean” Teacher Training offers teachers pedagogical tools to engage their students in coastal monitoring actions.
Goals
• Train teachers to use new pedagogical tools that promote Ocean Literacy in the school program in a practical and transdisciplinary way
• Involve the school community in the major issues that impact the Ocean, motivating them to become agents of change in their communities
• Promote the exchange of data, ideas, projects and practical actions that contribute to preserve the Ocean
