From July 2 to July 4, Coordinating Teachers and Student Ambassadors from the Azores gathered on Flores Island for the 1st Blue School Regional Meeting of the Azores. Organized by the Azorean Blue Schools themselves, this Meeting allowed for the sharing of experiences and best practices and, above all, brought together schools, teachers, and students.
The National Blue School Coordination was represented at the Meeting and witnessed the commitment of these schools. It's true that the number of Blue Schools in the Azores isn't as significant as we'd like. But few can surpass the commitment and determination of the Azorean schools.
We are grateful for the initiative shown by the Blue Schools of the Azores, and especially the hosts: Escola Básica e Secundária das Flores. We thank the municipalities of Santa Cruz das Flores and Lajes das Flores and all the local entities for their support of the Meeting, as well as the different municipalities that supported the travel of their Blue Schools representatives for the Meeting.
