The Blue Schools from Ribeira Brava, together with the Madeira Regional Directorate for the Sea, presented the video “Revisiting Cabotage” in the auditorium of FNAC Madeira. This film presented an action that took place in April, out of a partnership between the Municipality of Ribeira Brava, local schools and local entities.
That initiative aimed to revive the period of 1904-1909 when cabotage (navigation near and along the coast for the transport of goods and people) came to represent an added value for the economy of Madeira and an improvement in the quality of life of the population.
To value the ocean and letting students know that the ocean is in the DNA of Madeira was the main goal of this action, which also sought to promote connections between different generations.
